Kindfire
Ten days as the artistic heart of London Climate Action Week, at The Building Centre, 26 Store St, London WC1E 7BT. Eighteen artists, six environmental urgencies, and an entire community that ate vegan for the duration. Self-financed, so every artist got the wall for nothing.
What it was
Rooted in the collective's mission to awaken consciousness about interconnected ecosystems and inspire meaningful action, Kindfire brought together artists working across waste, biomaterials, photography, sculpture, videomaking, performance and storytelling.
The show spanned six interconnected environmental urgencies, arranged so that visitors could feel how each issue touches every other. Art became the emotional connector, revealing the systemic links between our choices, our cultures and the living world.
Throughout the programme, artists and speakers offered accessible, tailored pathways for action, so that every visitor left with concrete steps they could take immediately. Kindfire positioned art as a catalyst for systemic change: kind, determined, universal and collective.
Hosted by The Building Centre, as the artistic heart of London Climate Action Week. Les Hydronautes, of BIUTOPIC, were among the eighteen; the Captain Paul Watson Foundation UK is a partner of the collective.

Everyone ate vegan. All ten days.
The team and every participating artist for the full duration of the event, and every guest speaker on the day they spoke. Not a gesture — a measurable subtraction, which we then measured.

One tile, one kilogram of CO₂. The basis: 44 people eating plant-based for the ten days, plus vegan refreshments for 150 guests at the private view and the finissage. Who showed
Eighteen artists.
Every one of them part of a movement, not a platform. The collective self-finances the movement to keep it independent and to keep the door open to artists who could not otherwise afford the wall.
